Equality & Diversity statement

At Woodlands Surgery, we are committed to providing high-quality healthcare that is inclusive, respectful, and accessible to all patients.

We aim to ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or personal circumstances. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender, gender identity, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation.

Our Commitment

We are dedicated to:

  • Providing equal access to our services for all patients
  • Promoting fairness, dignity, and respect in all interactions
  • Recognising and valuing diversity within our community
  • Creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone

Our approach supports the principles of equality within the NHS, as set out by NHS England, and is aligned with regulatory expectations from the Care Quality Commission.

Accessible and Inclusive Care

We understand that some patients may need additional support to access our services. We will make reasonable adjustments where possible, including:

  • Providing interpreter and translation services
  • Offering information in alternative formats such as large print or easy-read
  • Supporting patients with sensory impairments
  • Offering additional assistance when attending appointments

Please let us know if you have any specific requirements so we can support you.

Staff Training and Awareness

Our staff receive training in equality, diversity, and inclusion to ensure that all patients are treated fairly and with respect.
